Destiny (German: Schicksal) is the only wordless novel by German artist Otto first appeared in from the Munich-based publisher wordless images the story follows an unnamed woman in a German city in the early 20th century whose life of poverty and misfortune drives her to infanticide, prostitution, and murder.

The first in a trilogy of novels set in the post "Nemesis" "Trek" universe, "Destiny: Gods of Night" is one of the more entertaining and page-turning "Trek" novels I've read in a while.

Credit a lot of that to author David Mack who in the course of the novel juggles at least four separate plot threads over several different eras of "Trek" history/5. Gods of Night is the first novel in the crossover trilogy Star Trek: Destiny.

The book features the crews of the USS Enterprise-E from Star Trek: The Next Generation, the USS Titan of Star Trek: Titan, and introduces the USS Aventine, commanded by Ezri Dax of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as they seek to find a way to stop the Borg Invasion begun in epilogue of the preceding TNG novel Greater Author(s): David Mack.

I think the next book in the series is better than this one, but this book was fun to read. Child of Destiny seems to be an introduction, so a lot of background stuff is presented.

If you enjoyed the first Star Trek: Destiny novel, this book is for you. (If you haven't read Book 1: Gods of Night, do so before picking up this book.) Enjoyment is 5/5(5). The Chorus’s words foreshadow Oedipus’s downfall. The common theme of these works involves a protagonist who cannot escape their destiny, however hard they try. In Neil Gaiman's graphic novel series The Sandman, destiny is one of the Endless, depicted as a blind man carrying a book that contains all the past and all the future.
